Randox Laboratories has introduced BNP1-32 – an accepted clinical practice for the diagnosis of heart failure due to its high sensitivity and specificity. It is an automated test for levels of BNP, which can be indicative of several comorbid conditions, such as congestive heart failure, coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation, chronic renal failure and chronic respiratory disease. This control is designed to be used alongside the Acusera range of third-party controls. Randox has also released Prostate-Specific Antigen, which allows testing for indications of prostate cancer and other prostate conditions such as prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
