Scenario-based learning and gamification have been concepts used since the 2000s, but in recent years have seen much greater interest and appreciation of their potential benefits to learning. Both aim to encourage application of learning, with the ability to simulate the “real world”, and increase learner interest via the use of “games” in gamification.
