The Native Antigen Company, part of LGC Clinical Diagnostics, has announced the commercial launch of its latest SARS-CoV-2 antigens for the newly designated Omicron BA.5 variant. The company’s new range of receptor binding domain (RBD) antigens will support scientists in the research and development of in vitro diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines for the current variant of concern,which now accounts for more than 50% of the world’s cases of COVID-19.

Muna Therapeutics

Parkinson’s disease

Muna Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company discovering and developing novel therapeutics for the Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders, has been awarded a $4.9 million grant from the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The grant will be used to support ongoing preclinical research and development of novel, brain-exposed, small molecule potassium channel type 1.3 (Kv1.3) blockers to abrogate neuroinflammation driven by disease-associated microglia and enhance neuroprotection.
